Hey Miners!

Its time for a quick update! 

Manufacturing

We missed getting the files submitted before the break for Chinese New Year, but the manufacturer has reopened and confirmed that they have been received. I am waiting to hear back from their engineers regarding any changes that will be needed. Once the files are good to go, the manufacturer will provide us with electronic proofs, then we'll do a final check to make sure everything is correct. After that, we will start production!

PnP

The graphic designer working on MYB sent me the first version of the completed PnP files. I just have a few questions that are being answered before they are ready, but it shouldn't be much longer. I will work on reaching out to PnP backers to get them their pledge level. If you are a PnP backer, I would love to hear what you think of the game once you get a chance to play it! Feel free to leave comments of DM us directly on any social media platform!

Pledge Manager

As of now 81% of backers have completed their pledge manager survey. If you have not completed your survey yet, please make sure to complete your survey when you can. Post Campaign Update #3

Hey Miners!

In keeping with my goal to post an update every 30-45 days, stay transparent about the production process and keep everyone in the loop I wanted to check in to let you know what’s been happening.

File Preparation

Despite a few errors, personal matters and the holiday season we are still on track to begin production in January!

I received the 3rd revision of "final" assets for Mine Your Business yesterday and there are only a few changes needed. After corrections are made, we will do a final spell checking phase and send the files to the manufacturer to start production.

Once production starts we will finish up the PnP files. This process won’t take very long as all assets are being perfected in the proofing process. I will send an email with the link to all of our PnP backers as soon as the files are ready.

Pledge Manager

I am sending out a smoke test today through BackerKit to 5% of our backers. This allows us to catch any errors or mistakes that might have happened during the set up of the pledge manager. If you are one of the 5% of backers that receives the smoke test please help by filling it out and completing it at your earliest convenience. If anything seems off, send us a message and we’ll get it taken care of.

The rest of you will receive the pledge manager within the next week or so, once we are sure there aren’t any issues.

 Discord

Envy Born Games is now on Discord! I will be checking in daily to discuss Mine Your Business, our other upcoming mini games: Sirens, Defrag, or 16 Candies. and answer any questions you may have.

Hello Miners!

I hope everyone has been well! I wanted to post an update to keep you in the loop of how things are going with Mine Your Business. I will touch on a few different topics below, if you have any questions please feel free to leave a comment or send a DM.

BGG.CON

Envy Born Games had a booth at the BGG.CON convention for Mine Your Business and it was an absolute blast! We got to play the game with a ton of people and even picked up some late pledges. It was a great opportunity to network and meet many other publishers, designers, content creators and gamers within the industry. Thank you to everyone who came by and talked with us! Here is a pick of our booth set up:

 PaxU

We will be at PaxU demoing Mine Your Business on Friday out of the Bridge Distribution booth where we hope to get even more late pledges for the campaign. On the other days of the convention I (Mathue) will be around checking everything out and meeting with people. If you plan on attending PaxU, I would love for a chance to meet up with you, just send me a DM!

I will also have an early demo copy of one of the other games we will be launching, Sirens! I would love for a chance to get some feedback from anyone who might be attending PaxU. Sirens is a Greek mythology themed game which is 1 of 3 micro games we will be launching on our next Kickstarter campaign. The other 2 are called Defrag and 16 Candies. Here is an image of the back of the cards for Sirens.

File Preparation 

I recently had a meeting with Aven, the graphic designer of Mine Your Business. We are still working on finishing up the manual, there was a slight mix up on my end, where I provided the dimensions for the manual from an old manufacturing quote. We had to change the size of the manual file to the correct dimensions and rearrange and place all the images and text, which slowed things down a little. Up next is the box layout, we have all of the assets created for it already, so it should be a quick process. Once these final items are completed we will be able to prepare and package all the files to send to the manufacturer, at which point they will check them and let us know if any edits are needed. This process is taking a little longer than expected because of my mistake, but I am making sure we get everything right the first time.

Once Aven is done with the final files, we will begin converting them to a PnP format so we can fulfill all of the PnP backer orders. I do apologize that the PnP files were not ready right at the end of the campaign, we have been working on the manual and a few other graphic design elements within the game to make sure you receive a quality product. Your patience is very much appreciated!

Pledge Manager

I am working with BackerKit to finalize the pledge manager, and hope to have it ready within the next week or two. Once ready, you will receive an invite in your email. More details on this to follow in future updates.

Late Pledge Open

We have opened the late pledge landing page within BackerKit. This will allow for people that missed the Kickstarter campaign to still back the game and support us until the manufacturing process is complete. If you have any friends or family that you think would enjoy the game, please consider sharing our late pledge site with them!

Post Campaign and What to Expect!

Hello Miners!

Let me start out by saying "WOW! What a campaign that was!" I know I've said it a ton, but thank you so much for joining me on this journey, Mine Your Business will now officially become a published game thanks to each of you.

The campaign has ended, but there is still plenty of work to be done. I will do my best to share what that will look like now that we are in the post campaign process:

Post Campaign

Pledge Manager

I will be working with Backerkit over the next several days to get the pledge manager set up. I will post an update a few days before the survey invites are sent out. Once you have your pledge manager invite you will be able to enter your shipping address, pay shipping fees and VAT fees if applicable, you will also have the opportunity to add things to your order. For example, if you pledged a dollar or more during the campaign but didn't select a reward level you will have the opportunity to increase your pledge level to get a copy of the game.

Graphic Design/PnP

The graphic designer is working on editing the game files and preparing them for the manufacturer. We are making some minor changes as needed to the icons and logo, as well as finalizing the manual.  This process shouldn't take long, I will continue to keep everyone posted with the overall progress. After the files are finished the graphic designer will prepare files for the PnP version of the game and when it's ready it will be emailed to all of our PnP backers.

Manufacturing

After the files are completed we will submit them to the manufacturer, at which point they will let us know if any edits are needed. Next they will send us print proofs so we can check to make sure the colors, art, and spelling are all correct. After we sign off on everything the manufacturing process will begin, this process usually takes 2.5 - 3 months. Our manufacturer Gameland is located in China and they will be shut down for a few weeks starting January 22nd in celebration of Chinese New Year. This could potentially add a delay to our manufacturing process, we will post updates and let you know if anything changes to our timeline.

Gnomified Miner/Master Miner pledges

If you backed at either the Gnomified Miner or Master Miner pledge level we will be in contact with you to obtain your email address and the picture you would like us to use for your reward, please keep an eye on your Kickstarter messages. We ask that you respond to us as quickly as possible, we would like to give the artist a big head start on this so she can have all of the images ready by the time the production run is complete. Please note, once she has completed your custom image we will not be able to offer any refunds on your pledge.

Upcoming Conventions

We will be playing demo copies of Mine Your Business at BBG.CON in November at our own Envy Born Games booth and at PaxU in December at the Bridge booth. If you are going to be at either of these conventions please stop by, we would love to meet you and play a game with you!

Content Creators 

I would like to give a special thanks to all of the wonderful content creators who worked with us and helped us promote Mine Your Business, they each played a huge role in the success of this campaign. We have their videos posted on the Kickstarter campaign page for Mine Your Business, please go like their videos and subscribe/follow them to help return the support they have provided to us.

Our Promise

We promise to be transparent, we will post updates when relevant and new information is available. We will also do our best to answer all Kickstarter messages and emails in a timely manner.

There are Few Days Left In the Campaign!

We have a few days left, which means there's still time for us to unlock a stretch goal or two! We are going to crank up our marketing efforts even more for the last few days to try and unlock some of them.
